Here the largest wooden church in Norway, namely Heddal Stave Church. Located in Notodden, this church is rich of histories and has become one of the important historic buildings in Norway. According to the history, Heddal Stave Church was built in the years 1050 and was reconstruction in 1952. This church was dedicated to the Virgin Marry that consists of a basilica with 12 big and 6 small support columns. All materials building of this church is woods except for door lock and hinges made from iron. According to some sources, today, there are only 28 from stave churches in Norway and the Heddal Stave Church is one of them. Near Heddal Stave Church, there are rural museum and milk farm that you can visit.
