Purnululu National Park is a national park which located in the region of Kimberley, Western Australia. The national park is home to unique big sandstone formation called Bungle Bungle Range, it has been becomes main attraction at this national park. This unique big sandstone was estimated to be 350 years old and had respected by its Aboriginal custodians for 40.000 years. The range the sandstone formations rises up to 578 meters above sea level and stands up to 300 meters in the area of woodland or grass. With nearly 240.000 hectares area, Purnululu National Park offers the beautiful landscapes and wildlife. There are many rare plants and animals in this national park. Livistona fan palms and eucalyptus forests are some of plants that can be found here. There are also more than 130 species of birds here.
Tips : For those of you who want to stay at this national park, there are several campgrounds that you can found here. Best time to go is April to December when the dry season comes, it is because during the wet season can only be seen from the air. Purnululu National Park is located 250 kilometers south of Kununurra, the nearest town from the national park. You can reach the national park from this city by car or rent a helicopter.
